Italian giant Lamborghini will unveil its electric supercar concept today at Monterey Car Week in California. The automaker recently announced that its 2+2-seater grand tourer electric vehicle will make its global debut in 2028.
Although the image does not reveal much, it shows a recognisable Lamborghini outline with some stronger, more modern design cues at the front and rear. Lamborghini previewed the next concept in a social media post.
The Lamborghini Estoque concept, which was unveiled in 2008 but was never put into production, may serve as an influence for the all-electric GT idea. The 400 GT 2+2, Espada, Islero, and Urraco were all 2+2 grand tourers, so this isn’t the Italian manufacturer’s first foray into the 2+2 GT market.
Due to its floor-mounted battery pack, this electric GT will have more ground clearance than the company’s existing supercar lineup, albeit less than the Urus SUV. It won’t be a crossover, but CEO Stephan Winkelmann has indicated it will be more practical and usable than the Huracan or Revuelto. Additionally, it will feature more avant-garde appearance to emphasise the powertrain’s distinction from other Lamborghinis.
The automaker intends to introduce an electric Urus in 2029, precisely one year after the four-seater GT goes on sale.
Presently, Lamborghini sells the Huracan, Urus S, and Urus Performante in India. The Revuelto hybrid, which takes the place of the Aventador, will be introduced by Lamborghini later this year. According to Lamborghini, the Revuelto is completely sold out through 2026.
