Kia has introduced its all-electric compact SUV, the Kia EV5, at the Chengdu Motor Show in China. This release signifies a new chapter in the realm of electric mobility tailored to meet the preferences of millennial families.
EV5’s Transformative Design
With a goal to redefine the aesthetics of compact SUVs, Kia took inspiration from its renowned ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy to create the EV5. This design approach seamlessly combines natural landscapes and modern architecture, resulting in robust lines and a confident stance.
Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design Center, stated, “The EV5 sets a new standard for design, performance, and practicality while providing new levels of driver enjoyment and user experience.”
The EV5 boasts powerful fenders, solid shoulder lines, and an unmistakable quarter silhouette, while its pushed-back D-pillars enhance family-friendly features and visibility. The front exterior showcases distinctive elements like the sleek digital ‘Tiger Face,’ with three-dimensional ‘Signature Star Map Lighting’ enhancing the overall impression.
Interior Reimagined
Kia’s research has highlighted that today’s millennial drivers view their EV SUV interiors as more than just a place to travel—it’s an extension of their lifestyle. The EV5’s interior is meticulously designed to provide an engaging and comfortable experience. The ‘Bold for Nature’ design philosophy integrates nature-inspired elements into the cabin, creating a harmonious blend of form and function.
The cabin’s ambiance is elevated with variable mood lighting, adjustable in brightness and available in a variety of colors. Kia’s interior design team has crafted an inviting center fascia that offers a seamless blend of style and practicality.
Customization Options
The EV5 offers a range of customization options, allowing customers to tailor their SUV’s interior to their unique preferences. With a choice of colors and seat patterns, customers can infuse their personal touch into their EV5’s design.
