Kia has unveiled the all-new Kia K3 at a world premiere in Mexico City, showcasing its bold design, spacious interior, and advanced safety features. The sub-compact sedan is set to be produced in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and aims to redefine the entry-level vehicle experience.
Sean Yoon, President and CEO of Kia North America, highlighted the K3’s design and sophistication, emphasizing Kia’s commitment to tailored mobility solutions. He also acknowledged the potential of the Mexican market for growth.
The K3 will offer a 1.6-liter engine while introducing a sporty GT-Line trim featuring a 2.0-liter engine for the first time. Safety features include six airbags, ABS, ESC, and optional Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) upgrades.
Embodying Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, the K3 boasts a futuristic appearance with a fastback-style silhouette, dynamic front end, and striking LED DRL light pattern. The traditional Tiger Nose grille has been reinterpreted for a purposeful look, and the overall design exudes a sense of sophistication.
The GT-Line version enhances sportiness with larger air intakes, 17″ wheels, and dual exhaust outlets. The K3’s dimensions offer ample space for passengers and an impressive 544-liter trunk capacity.
Inside, the K3 provides a modern and comfortable environment with integrated instruments, a panoramic infotainment screen, and a minimalist dashboard. A central high-resolution touchscreen up to 10.25 inches offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, alongside Bluetooth connectivity.
The Kia K3 prioritizes safety, equipped with six airbags, ABS, and ESC. ADAS features like Front Collision Avoidance, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist are available based on trim.
Powered by a 1.6-liter or 2.0-liter engine, the K3 offers both manual and automatic transmissions. A 1.4-liter engine will also be available for select markets.The all-new Kia K3 is expected to launch in various markets in the fourth quarter, with detailed launch dates and specifications to be revealed by each country individually.
