Kia India crosses 250,000 vehicle exports milestone

Kia India, a prominent player in the premium automotive sector, proudly announced today a remarkable milestone: the surpassing of 250,000 vehicle exports. Since 2019, the company has shipped a total of 255,133 units to over 100 markets worldwide from its manufacturing facility in Anantapur. Leading this charge is the Seltos, accounting for an impressive 59% of the company’s overall overseas dispatches. Following closely are Kia’s other standout models: the Sonet and Carens, contributing 34% and 7% respectively to the company’s international sales figures.

While Kia India remains a vital export hub for the Kia Corporation, recent years have seen a strategic shift towards prioritizing the domestic market. Starting this year, the company aims to manufacture 90% of its products for the Indian market.

Presently, Kia India exports its vehicles to a diverse array of over 100 international markets from its Anantapur facility. Key destinations for Kia India’s exports include South Africa, Chile, Paraguay, and various nations in Latin America. Kia’s unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence has solidified its position as a global automotive leader, both within India and on the world stage.

Mr. Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India, expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “Our relentless pursuit of quality and innovation has propelled us to this significant milestone. The international success of our Made in India vehicles underscores our unwavering commitment to delivering excellence. We have rapidly emerged as a pivotal market for Kia Corporation and are determined to sustain this momentum. While our primary focus remains on the domestic market, we are committed to maintaining steady exports throughout the year.”

The Anantapur plant, operational for approximately five years now, has swiftly emerged as a crucial export hub within Kia’s global manufacturing network. Thanks to its state-of-the-art production capabilities and unwavering commitment to the highest quality standards, the facility has enabled Kia to meet the ever-growing demand for its vehicles worldwide.
