Kia Motors, a key player in India’s mass premium car segment, has introduced the upgraded version of its second best-selling model, the 2024 Sonet, marking its debut in the Indian market. The revamped Sonet is designed with a more robust and sportier appearance, specifically targeting tech-savvy modern couples and professionals.
Enhanced safety features
The New Sonet boasts an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with 10 autonomous features, including Front Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA), Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA), and Lane Following Assist (LFA). This brings the total safety features to an impressive 25, making it the only Compact SUV in its segment to offer such an extensive safety package.
Kia has included industry-leading safety measures, such as 6 airbags as a standard feature across all variants. This establishes Kia as the youngest brand in India to provide all its products with 6 or 8 airbags, setting a new benchmark in safety norms.
Kia inspiring drive program
A new initiative, the ‘Kia Inspiring Drive Program’ or K.I.D, driven by technology, is being introduced. Accessible through the ‘Kia Connect’ app, this program assesses Kia owners’ driving behaviour, offering an Ecoscore that can be redeemed for rewards. Initially, the program will be available for Kia Sonet owners.
Manual transmission reintroduction
Responding to customer needs, Kia India has reintroduced the Manual Transmission to all variants with Diesel powertrain. The Sonet now offers various transmission options, providing customers with greater flexibility.
Exterior enhancements
The New Sonet features a sportier and more upright design, giving it a bold and masculine stance. Changes to the exterior include Crown Jewel LED Headlamps, Star Map LED DRLs, sleek LED Fog Lamps, and R16 Crystal Cut Alloy Wheels, among others. The vehicle is available in a variety of colours, including a new addition – Pewter Olive.
Comfortable and luxurious interiors
The cabin experience is refined with tech-oriented dashboard features, a premium Bose 7 Speaker System, Dual Screen Connected Panel Design, and a Full Digital Cluster with a 10.25-inch Colour LCD MID and HD Touchscreen Navigation. The New Sonet provides a comfortable and luxurious atmosphere for passengers.
Connected car features
Under the Kia Connect platform, The New Sonet offers over 70 Connected Car features, categorized under five pillars – Safety & Security, Convenience, Remote Control, Navigation, and Vehicle Management. Features include Find My Car with Surround View Monitor, Hinglish VR Commands, Valet Mode, and Advanced Auto Collision Notification.
Additional interior and convenience features
The interior enhancements include LED Ambient Sound Lighting, a 60:40 Seatback Split Fold, and a new GT Line Logo on the Steering Wheel. Convenience features such as a 360 Degree Camera with Blind View Monitor and a 4-Way Power Driver’s Seat add to the overall driving experience.
