2024 Mini Countryman John Cooper Works revealed

New logo, new design

Mini revealed revised its John Cooper Works logo and the new one sits proudly on the Countryman, that too in the classic black, red, and white colour scheme, which is seen for the first time on the Countryman. The JCW Countryman further offers a meshed front grille, red inserts on bumpers, JCW alloy wheels and twin-tip exhausts. In the signature JCW colour, its roof comes in red, dialling up its sporty quotient.

Go-kart like driving

Mini range of cars are often regarded as one of the best-handling cars, mimicking the agility of a go-kart. With the 2024 JCW Countryman, Mini has tried its best to retain those characteristics. Like before, the JCW Countryman continues to come with a 2.0L turbo petrol engine, which pumps out 300PS of power and 400Nm of torque. The engine comes coupled with an all-wheel-drive system, helping the JCW Countryman to sprint from a standstill to 100kmph in 5.4 seconds.

In addition, the JCW Countryman also packs a high-performance braking system, variable exhaust system and optimised engine internals like pistons, connecting rods, and engine mounts to extract the best from the four-banger. Mini has also increased the tyre diameter by 30mm and tyre width, which now stands at 245mm, for better handling.

Racy interior

Mini has also made ample changes on the inside to differentiate the JCW from the vanilla Countryman. To start with, it features an all-black dashboard with glossy black insets along with sports leather seats. The centre of attraction remains to be the round infotainment system, which uses an OLED screen. The new JCW Countryman also comes with a ‘go-kart’ mode that changes the theme for the cluster while also amping up the artificial engine sound inside the cabin. It also supports voice commands to operate functions like navigation, telephone and entertainment.

On the practicality front, the JCW Countryman’s rear seats can be slid forward and backwards by up to 13mm. With the rear seats folded, you can manage to fit in luggage equivalent to 1450 litres. Speaking of its features, it packs LED headlights, driving modes, ambient lighting and Level 2 Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS).
