Honda aims to enter the Chinese EV landscape with its offensive offerings in two phases. The first phase of EVs includes the P7 and S7 while the second phase includes the GT Concept, which is a concept model at this point. The new range of Ye Series EVs will go on sale alongside the existing Honda e:N series. The new model range will be showcased at the 18th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2024).
Honda has introduced a new H logo that will adorn its next-generation range of electric vehicles. All the new-gen EV models are underpinned by Honda’s new dedicated EV platform, which boasts of single-motor rear- and dual-motor all-wheel-drive options. Interestingly, Honda reveals that the rear-wheel-drive variant has been developed for crisp handling and fun of driving while the all-wheel-drive variant is aimed to deliver outright performance.
The interior of the new-gen Honda EVs features a spacious cabin in both rows with premium and sustainable materials all across. Honda is yet to reveal the powertrain or seating options for the new P7 and S7 electric SUVs. However, the carmaker has confirmed that both SUVs will go on sale in China towards the end of 2024.
The silhouettes of both the P7 and S7 look similar in the limited images that we have access to. Between the two, the S7 boasts a sportier exterior stance thanks to its sleeker LED headlights and extended bumpers & side sills. The GT Concept is still in the concept stage and depicts Honda’s take on a sporty electric grand tourer. The concept images reveal a tapering roofline, sporty alloy wheels, extended side sills and a low riding stance. The production models based on the GT Concept will go on sale towards the end of 2025.
