The new Honda NX500 comes to the Indian market via the CBU route and prospective buyers can book the adventure tourer motorcycle across Honda Bigwing dealerships nationwide. Honda introduced the new NX500 at the EICMA 2023 three months back, with a slew of new-age tech and design updates over the CB500x.
Starting with the design, the Honda NX500 features a vertically-stacked LED headlight, accompanied by a tall windscreen and LED turn indicators. It also gets a slim body fairing featuring the Honda logo and NX branding.
The Honda NX500 comes equipped with a 5.0-inch TFT cluster that uses optical bonding to improve visibility in harsh sunlight. Rider gets the option to control the display via a 4-way toggle switch, which enables a myriad of functions like smartphone connectivity, call and music control and customisation for the gauge cluster designs.
Powering the 2024 Honda NX500 is a 471cc parallel-twin engine that puts out 47PS of power at 8,600rpm and 43Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The engine comes coupled with a 6-speed gearbox that is tuned to deliver strong low- and mid-range punch. The on-board system of the NX500 also allows to switch off the HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) system, which is essentially a switchable traction control system in Honda’s speak.
Shedding light on other mechanical bits, the NX500 runs on Showa 41mm upside-down forks at the front and a pro-link mono suspension at the rear. Braking duties are handled by two 296mm discs at the front and 240mm disc at the rear, accompanied by a 2-piston and 1-piston calliper, respectively.
Honda offers the 2024 NX500 in a total of 3 colour options — Grand Prix Red, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic and Pearl Horizon White. The Japanese bikemaker will begin delivering the new NX500 from February 2024 onwards via its exclusive Bigwing chain of dealerships.
