Hero MotoCorp has unveiled the 2023 Xtreme 160R 4V in India, offering a range of variants with prices starting at Rs 1.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This updated model boasts significant upgrades including a 37mm KYB USD fork, Showa monoshock, a more potent 4-valve engine, and several cosmetic enhancements.
Notable Changes:
Suspension Upgrade: The most noticeable visual change is the addition of a new golden 37mm KYB USD fork, enhancing the bike’s front end. The top-spec Pro variant features a 7-step preload adjustable Showa monoshock, while the other two variants retain a telescopic fork/monoshock setup.
Cosmetic Enhancements: The Xtreme 160R 4V showcases longer and angular tank extensions, a dual-tone paint scheme, and a redesigned full-LED headlight. The updated switchgear mirrors the quality found on the Hero Xpulse 200 4V.
More Powerful Engine: The 163cc single-cylinder engine now incorporates an oil cooler alongside air cooling, featuring a modern 4-valve head. This results in an output of 16.9hp at 8,500rpm and 14.5Nm of torque. The Pro variant weighs 145kg, while the Standard and Connected variants weigh 144kg.
Smart Features: The bike boasts a Bluetooth-enabled negative LCD display with call and notification alerts. Hero offers various accessories, including a single seat, phone mount, bar end mirrors, and more.
Price and Competitors:
The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V is available in three variants: Standard (Rs 1,27,300), Connected (Rs 1,32,800), and Pro (Rs 1,36,500). The Standard variant features a telescopic fork and a single seat, while the Connected variant offers Bluetooth connectivity. The range-topping Pro variant includes the USD fork, a split-seat setup, and dual-tone colors.
The Xtreme 160R 2V remains available with prices ranging from Rs 1,18,886 to Rs 1,30,008 (ex-showroom, Delhi). In terms of pricing, the Xtreme 160R 4V competes with models like the Bajaj Pulsar N160 (Rs 1.23 lakh – Rs 1.30 lakh) and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V (Rs 1.24 lakh – Rs 1.32 lakh).
