Future Motion Inc., the innovative company behind the Onewheel brand, has made waves in the electric personal transportation sector with two significant announcements. The company has introduced its most advanced off-road board to date, the Onewheel GT S-Series Rally Edition, while simultaneously reducing the price of its base S-Series model.
The new Rally Edition represents a leap forward in Onewheel technology, designed to tackle challenging terrains with ease. At the heart of this new model is the Recurve Rails system, developed in collaboration with the Onewheel Factory Pro Team. This feature utilises an asymmetric rail geometry, providing riders with improved control and leverage without compromising on ground clearance. This design enhancement allows the board to handle rugged landscapes and steep gradients more effectively.
In addition to the Recurve Rails, the Rally Edition comes equipped with a factory-upgraded 6-inch motor hub. This larger hub increases tyre volume, resulting in a smoother ride across rough terrain. Paired with a performance-oriented tyre, the Rally Edition is poised to set a new standard in off-road electric boarding.
Kyle Doerksen, Future Motion’s CEO and the inventor of Onewheel expressed his excitement about the new model: “The Onewheel GT S-Series with Recurve Rails now sets an even higher standard for comfort and control. It’s been super impressive to see how it’s enabled our Factory Team Riders to crush mountain bike terrain and single track trails with ease, and I can’t wait to see how it pushes riding progression forward.”
The Rally Edition will be available at a price point of USD 3,500, making it the premium offering in the Onewheel lineup. For riders who prefer the standard 6.5-inch motor hub, a version of the GT S-Series with Recurve Rails will be available for USD 3,200. Recognising the loyalty of their existing customer base, Future Motion is also offering a factory service replacement for current GT S-Series owners, allowing them to upgrade their boards with Recurve Rails for USD 450, including shipping and installation.
Future Motion has also announced a significant price reduction on the original GT S-Series. The base model will now be available for USD 2,900, a USD 300 decrease from its previous price. Jack Mudd, Director of Marketing at Future Motion, explained the reasoning behind this decision: “Now that we’ve got the S-Series in mass production, we’re able to pass some savings along to our riders. It’s the dream riding experience and was worth every penny at USD 3,200, and now at USD 2,900, it’s even greater value.”
This price reduction is expected to make the Onewheel experience more accessible to a broader range of riders. The company’s product lineup has expanded to include a range of models, each catering to different rider preferences and skill levels.
