Ford becomes top US automaker with most number of vehicles assembled

Ford Motor Company still maintains its prominence as the dominant automaker in the US through securing the number one position in areas such as vehicle production and assembly, exports, and employment statistics based on data gathered by S&P Global Mobility. This time, Ford stood victorious for the sixth year in a row. Andrew Frick, President of Ford Blue, affirmed Ford’s steadfast loyalty to American ethics arguing that, “Ford is an American company to the bone. We are happy to respond to our consumer needs with vehicles that are the result of American innovation.”

Ford currently employs 57,000 hourly manufacturing workers in the US alone, way ahead of its competitors in the area and is in the process of hiring about 900 more workers for the manufacturing of Bronco and Ranger models in its Michigan Assembly Plant.

The operations of Ford also affect the society through the over 2800 Ford and Lincoln dealerships that exist within the US as they are able to contribute in the provision of employment within the society.

In the year 2023, their production plants in the US manufactured over 1.8 million vehicles or 130,000 more than the overall total of other auto manufacturers. This includes the F-Series truck line, ranging from the gas-powered, the hybrid, to the all-electric models, all of which were built in different manufacturing facilities in Michigan, Missouri, Kentucky, and Ohio.

Moreover, Ford showed strong devotion to support domestic manufacturing because 79% of vehicles sold in the US are built within the country, which no other automaker can proudly boast of. Figures regarding exports also depict its global dominance, where in 2023 there were 2,60,000 America assembled vehicles exported to global markets including F-150, Bronco, and Mustang model.

On an average, one out of every seven vehicles manufactured in the US by Ford ends up in places including Canada, Mexico, China, Puerto Rico, and South Korea, thus illustrating Ford’s global reach.
