Fisker Inc. has unveiled further details about its upcoming Fisker Alaska pickup truck. Sporting a starting base price of USD 45,400 and touting an innovative bed design, this vehicle is set to break barriers with its unique blend of functionality, sustainability, and versatility.
Henrik Fisker, Chairman and CEO of Fisker Inc., remarked, “Alaska breaks with convention. It doesn’t fit into any current segment, as it combines features of a mid-size pickup with the capabilities of a full-size thanks to its innovative expandable bed design.”
Originally showcased at the company’s Product Vision Day on August 3, the Fisker Alaska aims to redefine the pickup truck landscape. Going beyond the conventional norms of the market, Fisker envisions the Alaska as an “everything” vehicle that fuses sporty handling, luxurious SUV comfort, and the robust capabilities expected by discerning pickup truck enthusiasts.
One of the standout features of the Fisker Alaska is its innovative bed design, akin to the Houdini rear door utilized in the Fisker PEAR crossover. This bed design can expand from 4.5 to 7.5 feet by lowering a Houdini partition behind the rear seats into a space created by the vehicle’s battery layout. With the rear seats folded down and the Houdini partition lowered, the bed stretches further to a remarkable 9.2 feet.
However, Fisker’s ambition for the Alaska doesn’t stop at innovation alone. The company also intends for the pickup to be a trailblazer in terms of sustainability. By aiming to be the world’s lightest electric pickup, Fisker is setting the stage for an eco-conscious driving experience. The Fisker Alaska will be offered with two battery pack options – 75 kWh and 113 kWh – providing a range of 230-340 miles and achieving 0-60 mph times ranging from 3.9 to 7.2 seconds.
Furthermore, Fisker’s attention to detail extends into the interior, where convenience and functionality take center stage. The Fisker Alaska is set to offer an array of practical features, including the world’s largest cupholder, dedicated storage for items like cowboy hats and work gloves, and even a dedicated tray for passengers complete with a tablet holder.
Scheduled to begin production in the first quarter of 2025, the Fisker Alaska is poised to become a standout player in the electric pickup truck segment. With its bold vision, innovative features, and a commitment to sustainability, Fisker is aiming to reshape expectations and set a new standard for pickup trucks in the modern era.
