Same same but different…
The Euro-spec Citroen C3 Aircross comes underpinned by the common modular platform (CMP) that also underpins the Euro-spec C3 and the India-spec C3 and C3 Aircross. However, the Euro-spec models boast a more modern design, and more features than their low-cost Indian-spec counterparts. At 3.39 metres, the Euro-spec C3 Aircross measures slightly longer than the 3.32-metre-long India-spec C3 Aircross.
New Citroen design
The new Citroen C3 Aircross carries its design philosophy from the Oli concept. These design elements include a new 2D Citroen twin chevron logo, C-shaped head and tail light clusters and beefy skid plates, all combining for a robust stance. While the new C3 Aircross looks modern, its basic architecture and silhouette are similar to its Indian sibling.
The interior of the new C3 Aircross is currently under wraps. However, we expect them to closely resemble that of the C3 hatchback. The key features could include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a reverse parking camera and a head-up display. Unlike the first-gen C3 Aircross, the second-gen model offers third-row seats, which are removable for better practicality.
Multiple powertrains
The CMP platform unpinning the new C3 Aircross was designed for multiple powertrain options, including all-electric propulsion. As a result, the C3 Aircross will offer a choice of turbocharged petrol, petrol-hybrid and all-electric powertrain options from the launch. Its petrol-powered engine options could include a 1.2L turbocharged 3-cylinder with or without hybrid whereas the all-electric eC3 Aircross is likely to boast a single motor configuration as the e-C3 hatchback.
The new Citroen C3 Aircross will go on sale in Summer 2024, in Europe. More details about its features, variants, features and powertrain specifications will be revealed closer to its market launch.
