Bridgestone India and Tata Power have announced a joint venture to install EV chargers for four-wheelers at select Bridgestone dealerships across India. The first one was inaugurated at the Bridgestone Store in Shirur, located on the Pune – Ahmednagar road. For this venture, Tata Power is installing 25/30kWh DC fast chargers that are claimed to be capable of charging a four-wheeler within one hour.
The number of such chargers being installed at each location has not been disclosed. But even if it is assumed that each store will get just one charger, then realistically, each location will be able to cater to 20-24 vehicles per day. Further details, like the next locations where these chargers will be installed, are yet to be disclosed. What is confirmed is that these chargers will be accessible to all Bridgestone customers and general EV users.
Charging support, along with 24×7 service, maintenance support, remote vehicle charging monitoring & e-payments will all be managed by the Tata Power EZ Charge mobile application. The app will also provide EV owners the convenience of locating charging stations on aerial maps.
