BPCL and Trinity Cleantech partner for EV charging expansion in Uttar Pradesh

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has joined forces with Trinity Cleantech Pvt Ltd (TCPL) to enhance the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in India. The collaboration aims to establish dedicated fast-charging points for 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers, contributing to the country’s evolving electric mobility landscape.

Strategic partnership for EV charging infrastructure

BPCL, a Fortune 500 Maharatna Energy Company, and TCPL, a Hyderabad-based firm, have inked a three-year agreement, extendable for an additional two years, to set up DC Fast Charging Stations for electric 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers in Uttar Pradesh.

Deployment of fast charging stations

Under the partnership, TCPL will focus on major cities in Uttar Pradesh, including Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Noida, Saharanpur, and Agra, to deploy DC Fast Charging Stations at BPCL outlets. The initial installation will take place in Ayodhya, coinciding with the inauguration of an EV auto fleet for the temple event, attended by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

Boosting EV adoption

The collaboration aims to boost the adoption of electric 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers by providing a network of DC Fast Charging stations across Uttar Pradesh. This initiative addresses the need for reliable charging infrastructure, a crucial factor in promoting EV adoption.

Operational responsibilities

TCPL will be responsible for the installation of EV fast-charging stations at BPCL Retail Outlets, ensuring compliance with BPCL standards and Petroleum & Explosives Safety Organization (PESO) norms. The co-branded DC Fast Chargers will be installed at BPCL outlets in major cities, adhering to safety and operational guidelines.

Enhancing mobility solutions

Eliminating range anxiety

TCPL, a leading Charge Point Operator with over 800 EV Charging Stations nationwide, will play a vital role in the safety, operations, and maintenance of the DC Fast Charging Stations. The collaboration aims to eliminate range anxiety by providing fast-charging solutions capable of handling vehicles from 20V to 120V.

Rajkumar Medimi, CEO of Trinity Cleantech Private Limited, sees the collaboration as a milestone, granting access to BPCL’s extensive network of petrol pumps. This strategic partnership aims to instil confidence in the industry, convenience for existing EV owners, and contribute to reducing vehicular pollution.
