In order to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in India, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), one of the country’s largest government-owned downstream oil producers, has announced a strategic partnership with Bounce Infinity, a leading made-in-India electric scooter manufacturer. This collaboration aims to transform select BPCL retail outlets into multi-brand EV hubs, known as “eDrive stores,” where consumers can purchase, experience, and test-ride electric two-wheelers.

The initiative represents a significant shift in the traditional fuel station model, as it will allow customers to buy electric two-wheelers directly at BPCL fuel stations for the first time. This innovative approach is designed to make EVs more accessible to the public and raise awareness among potential EV customers, facilitating a smooth transition from internal combustion vehicles to electric alternatives.

Pardeep Goyal, Business Head of Retail at BPCL, emphasised the company’s commitment to supporting India’s sustainability goals, stating, “Partnering with Bounce Infinity is an integral part of our strategy to transform our fuel stations into versatile energy hubs that cater to the evolving needs of our customers and contribute to environmental sustainability.”

The eDrive stores will be operated either by Bounce Infinity or through BPCL’s extensive dealer network, ensuring a consistent and high-quality customer experience across all locations. Each outlet will be equipped with charging points, allowing customers to conveniently charge their vehicles on-site.

Vivekananda Hallekere, CEO and Co-founder of Bounce Infinity, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting how it aligns with their goal of promoting sustainable mobility solutions. He noted that the collaboration would enable Bounce Infinity to leverage BPCL’s vast retail network, offering consumers convenient access to their innovative range of electric two-wheelers.

This partnership presents a unique opportunity for BPCL dealers to become integral parts of the EV revolution, ensuring their relevance in the evolving automotive ecosystem. Bounce Infinity has committed to providing comprehensive support to BPCL dealers operating eDrive stores, including marketing assistance, inventory management, and training programs to maintain product availability and enhance customer satisfaction.

By targeting the large base of petrol two-wheeler owners who regularly visit BPCL stations for refuelling, this initiative aims to encourage a seamless transition to EVs. The strategic placement of eDrive stores within BPCL’s extensive network of retail outlets is expected to increase visibility and customer engagement, solidifying BPCL’s role in promoting sustainable mobility solutions.

This collaboration not only strengthens BPCL’s position in the competitive EV market but also underscores its commitment to sustainable mobility solutions. By providing seamless customer experiences, educating the public about EV technology, and driving forward-thinking innovations, BPCL and Bounce Infinity are working together to pave the way for a cleaner, greener future in India’s transportation sector.

As the EV market in India continues to grow, this partnership between BPCL and Bounce Infinity represents a significant step forward in making electric mobility more accessible and appealing to a wider audience. The success of this initiative could potentially set a new standard for fuel retailers and EV manufacturers alike, encouraging further collaborations and innovations in the pursuit of sustainable transportation solutions.
