Bosch has entered a multi-year partnership with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) and FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), marking a collaboration that aligns with the growing momentum of motorsport development. This partnership emphasizes Bosch’s commitment to expanding its global brand presence while supporting the future of sustainable racing.
Ingo Mauel, Head of Bosch Motorsport, stated, “By teaming up with ACO, we continue to invest in our brand presence and will be able to expand it further worldwide.” Bosch’s logo will be showcased along selected racetracks and on the official safety car, contributing to its strong presence across various race series. With existing sponsoring partnerships in ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, Japan’s Super GT500, and IMSA, Bosch Motorsport’s collaboration with ACO enhances its brand visibility globally.
The collaboration comes at a time when motorsports emphasizes sustainability and resource conservation. Bosch is dedicated to developing components and systems for electrified drives, complementing its offerings for conventional internal-combustion engines.
In the new LMDh series, where standardized hybrid powertrains compete for victory, Bosch Motorsport plays a crucial role. As the exclusive partner for hybrid powertrains in each LMDh car, Bosch’s contribution enhances the performance of the vehicles in both FIA WEC and U.S. IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.
“In all that we do, we are driven by the deep passion we put into developing components, systems, and technologies,” expressed Ingo Mauel. The collaboration encompasses components, software, and telemetry systems, reflecting Bosch’s more than 120-year tradition in motorsports.
Bosch’s involvement extends to the LMDh system’s comprehensive development, from software for the hybrid control unit to collaboration with chassis designers, battery and transmission partners, and racing series. The hybrid system offers flexibility, adaptable to diverse vehicle and engine concepts, delivering impressive performance and adhering to LMDh regulations. This scalable system provides a continuous output of 50 kW in drive mode, with potential for higher performance levels.
With this partnership, Bosch advances its position in the motorsports industry while contributing to the evolution of sustainable racing solutions.
