BMW Motorrad has unveiled its latest innovation, the CE 02, a distinctive e-vehicle tailored for urban environments. Positioned as an ‘eParkourer,’ this urban runabout caters to young riders seeking dynamic and practical city mobility.
The CE 02 is designed for nimble urban maneuvering, boasting large wheels for terrain versatility. With a sleek aesthetic, it features a primarily black frame, wheels, and front fender contrasted with granite grey metallic matte elements. The Highline version offers an expressive and vibrant appearance.
Packing a punch, the CE 02 boasts a maximum power output of 11 kW (15 hp), delivering swift acceleration and an engaging riding experience. The 4 kW (5 hp) version, capped at 45 kph, is accessible for 15-year-olds with a car license in certain regions. Sporting a top speed of 95 kph and a range of over 90 km (11 kW version, according to WMTC), the CE 02 ensures urban adventures are both speedy and extensive.
With a lightweight frame, weighing just 132 kg (11 kW version) or 119 kg (4 kW version), and a low seat height of 750 mm, the CE 02 is known for its agile handling. The ‘Flow’ and ‘Surf’ riding modes offer adaptable settings for city cruising and dynamic experiences, respectively. An additional ‘Flash’ mode is available as part of the optional Highline package.
Equipped with a standard external charger boasting 0.9 kW charging power, the CE 02 enables quick and convenient charging using standard household outlets. The chassis features a robust double-loop frame, hydraulically damped telescopic forks, single-sided swingarm, and disc brakes for secure deceleration.
The cockpit boasts a user-friendly TFT display providing information on speed, battery status, and more. A USB-C charging socket accommodates smartphone charging. Utilizing the BMW Motorrad Connected app, riders can track charging progress via Bluetooth, much like the BMW CE 04.
BMW Motorrad’s CE 02 is set to redefine urban mobility, offering youthful riders an energetic, adaptable, and efficient mode of transport designed specifically for the demands of city living.
