BMW M4 GT3 EVO race car breaks cover

BMW M Motorsport has unveiled the highly anticipated EVO version of its flagship GT racing car, the BMW M4 GT3. This upgraded race car is a result of extensive collaboration with teams and drivers, focusing on more than just raw power. The BMW M4 GT3 EVO prioritises drivability, efficiency, and reliability, making it a well-rounded contender for the 2025 race season.

One of the most noticeable changes is the lighter and more efficient cathodic dip coating replacing the traditional paint on the car’s chassis. Aerodynamic tweaks include smaller mirrors, larger front wheel arch outlets, and an adjustable rear wing. These modifications work together to optimise airflow and provide superior stability during high-speed racing.

The EVO version also boasts significant upgrades to enhance handling and reduce wear. New anti-roll bars on both axles, larger rear brake discs, and a finely tuned differential contribute to this. These changes translate to less tyre and brake wear, allowing for consistent performance throughout extended races.

Visually, the car receives a refresh with new LCI headlights and taillights. The livery, designed by BMW Group Designworks, adopts a bold “Inception” theme, featuring a high-contrast mosaic of the iconic M colours – light blue, dark blue, and red – in an asymmetrical layout. It also incorporates a unique non-reflective matte black section near the driver’s cockpit, promoting focus and achieving weight savings by revealing the underlying carbon fibre construction.

The BMW M4 GT3 EVO reflects its advanced engineering and comprehensive upgrades with a price tag of EUR 578,000 net. Both the M4 GT3 EVO and its counterpart, the M4 GT4 EVO, will be available for purchase by racing teams for the 2025 season. This marks a significant step forward for BMW M Motorsport in the GT racing world, offering teams a competitive and well-rounded race car for the upcoming season.

On its global debut, Andreas Roos, Head of BMW M Motorsport, said “The BMW M4 GT3 has achieved more than 70 victories and countless major successes since its introduction. I particularly remember the DTM titles in 2022, the victory at the 24h Spa-Francorchamps in 2023, and the title wins in the North American IMSA series. I am convinced that the EVO model of the BMW M4 GT3, as well as that of the BMW M4 GT4, will contribute to playing in the first league of GT racing in the coming years and celebrating many more great victories. I thank everyone involved in the development of the cars.
