Motorsport-derived centre lock wheels
Alongside a slew of M Performance Parts, BMW M customers can now also retrofit centre lock wheels to select M models. Along with the optimised weight, the centre lock wheels also offer an exclusive design and technology adapted from motorsport connecting to the wheel bearing. Currently, BMW M Performance centre lock wheels are offered in the Original BMW Accessories program for the BMW M2, BMW M3 Competition Touring xDrive and all variants of the M3, M4 and M4 Convertible.
Instead of five lug nuts, each wheel is attached to the wheel hub via a centre screw, holding the wheel with the car. The result of such a design is quicker tyre change, cutting down time on pit stops. Additionally, the design also reduces rotating mass, resulting in better agility. Ensure that wheels are mounted on the hubs quickly and safely, torque of 930Nm is applied while changing the wheel.
Speaking of wheel sizes, the M Performance centre lock wheels for the M2, M3 and M4 are offered as a combined set of 19-inch for the front axle and 20-inch for the rear axle. The lightweight forged alloy wheels incorporate a Y-spoke design, which comes finished in jet black matte colour. The alloy wheels come shodded with 275/35 ZR19 for the front and 285/30 ZR20 for the rear.
Visual enhancing M Performance Parts
BMW M Performance Parts program further offers a range of exterior and interior accessories, which boost the sporty appeal of the vehicle. Starting with the performance-enhancing upgrades, BMW offers a range of options in the areas of suspension, drivetrain, aerodynamics, and cockpit. To improve the dynamics, customers can spec the M Performance suspension with height-adjustable spring perches.
Speaking of the aesthetic performance upgrades, customers can choose from an array of model-specific carbon components — covering exterior and interior elements. Most of these trim pieces and accessories are made of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and sealed with clear lacquer for a high-quality finish. These parts include the M Performance front attachment carbon, the M Performance rear diffuser, or the M Performance side sill.
