Bajaj aims to democratize electric scooters with the Chetak 2901. This new offering targets riders who currently use internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles by providing a comparable electric alternative at a competitive price point. The Chetak 2901 boasts a budget-friendly price tag while maintaining the qualities Bajaj’s Chetak scooters are known for – a robust metal body, advanced technology features, and a stylish design. This combination is intended to appeal to a wider range of riders seeking a reliable and elegant electric scooter.

The Chetak 2901 prioritizes practicality for daily commutes. It delivers a range of 123 kilometres (ARAI-certified), ensuring riders can navigate their day-to-day activities without worrying about running out of power. The scooter also features a solid metal body, providing durability and peace of mind for riders.

The Chetak 2901 comes in a variety of colours – Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow and Azure Blue – to suit individual tastes. It also boasts features like a coloured digital console, alloy wheels, and Bluetooth connectivity, enhancing rider comfort and convenience. For riders seeking a more technology-focused experience, Bajaj offers an optional upgrade called the TecPac. This package unlocks features like Hill Hold Assist, Reverse Assist, multiple riding modes (Sport and Economy), call and music controls, Follow Me Home lights, and Bluetooth app connectivity.

The launch of the Chetak 2901 expands Bajaj’s electric scooter portfolio to cater to a wider range of customer preferences. Existing models, like the Chetak Premium, cater to tech-savvy riders who desire a fully loaded electric scooter experience. Additionally, all Chetak variants can be further personalized with the TecPac upgrade, offering functionalities like app connectivity, call management, music control, geo-fencing for security, and various riding modes.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Eric Vas, President of Urbanite at Bajaj Auto Ltd., expressed optimism about the Chetak 2901’s impact. “We believe the Chetak 2901 will dramatically expand the electric scooter market,” he said. By offering a feature-rich electric scooter at a price comparable to petrol scooters, Bajaj hopes to entice a new generation of riders towards electric mobility.  Retail sales are expected to begin on June 15th.
