Bajaj Auto has unveiled its sales figures for May 2024, and the numbers reflect both positive and negative trends. According to the announcement, the Indian automaker registered total sales of 3,05,482 units during the month.
Out of this figure, 1,88,340 units were sold in the domestic market. However, when compared to the same period last year, Bajaj witnessed a decline of 3 percent in its domestic sales, as the company had sold 1,94,811 units in May 2023.
On the other hand, Bajaj’s export performance showed an upward trajectory. The brand exported 1,17,142 units in May 2024, marking a year-on-year growth of 4 percent compared to the 1,12,885 units exported in May 2023. This achievement solidifies Bajaj’s position as a leading exporter in the industry.
The cumulative sales figures for the April-May 2024 period painted a positive picture. Bajaj recorded domestic sales of 4,05,290 units during this period, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 8 percent. Additionally, the company’s exports during the same period saw a 10 percent increase, reaching 2,41,981 units.
The strong sales performance can be attributed to Bajaj’s diverse range of models currently available in the market. These include popular offerings such as the Pulsar N250, Pulsar N150, Pulsar N160, Pulsar NS200, Pulsar RS200, Pulsar NS160, Pulsar 150, Pulsar NS125, Pulsar N125, Pulsar 220F, Pulsar NS400Z, Dominar 400, Dominar 250, Avenger 220 Cruiser, Avenger 160, Avenger 220 Street, Platina, CT125X, and CT 110X.
Among the recent additions to Bajaj’s lineup, the Pulsar NS400Z stands out as a prominent model. As the biggest bike in the Pulsar range, the NS400Z is powered by a 373cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 39 bhp and 35 Nm of peak torque. Priced at Rs. 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom), the bike is available in multiple paint scheme options, including Brooklyn Black, Glossy Racing Red, Pewter Grey, and Pearl Metallic White, catering to diverse customer preferences.
Bajaj is set to expand its portfolio with the introduction of CNG-powered motorcycles in the Indian market. Slated for launch in June, these new models will be among the first to utilize CNG as fuel, offering a more environmentally friendly power-train option to customers.
As the brand continues to innovate and cater to evolving customer demands, the brand’s sales figures are expected to reflect the impact of its strategic initiatives and product offerings in the coming months.
