AZULIK EK reimagines electric golf carts

AZULIK Mobility, a subsidiary of the design-focused AZULIK Real Estate, has unveiled a captivating concept car – the EK. More than just a vehicle, the EK is a rolling statement piece, seamlessly blending organic architecture with modern technology, is what its manufacturer claims.

The EK’s most striking feature is its doorless design. The curvaceous fibreglass body offers an open-air driving experience, perfect for appreciating the surroundings. Seating three comfortably, the EK boasts a unique nautical fabric-upholstered tabletop – ideal for impromptu picnics or scenic refreshments. The distinctive wooden steering wheel, crafted from tropical zapote wood, exemplifies AZULIK’s commitment to incorporating natural elements into their designs.

The EK is a product of Roth Fablab, a Mexican company renowned for collaborating with local artisans and utilising regional materials. Manufactured in Francisco Uh May, Mexico, the prototype reflects this commitment to regional production. Its 2,200W electric motor offers a top speed of 40 km/hr and is perfectly suited for its intended purpose – private transportation within AZULIK Basin, a real estate development by AZULIK.

Despite its modest speed, the EK boasts a range of 100 kilometres on a single charge. This makes it ideal for leisurely, short commutes within the expansive property. The EK isn’t just about aesthetics; functionality is also a priority. The car is equipped with modern amenities like wireless phone charging, a reverse camera display, and a digital tachometer. Every detail, from the spider-web-like steering wheel to the thermoformed acrylic windshield, reflects the design inspiration behind the EK.

Launched on May 20th, 2024, this first prototype represents AZULIK Mobility’s innovative approach to transportation. While it does not impress  with its driving range or overall practicality, its uniquely beautiful design sets it apart from the sea of mundane golf carts.
