More Power Under the Hood
At the heart of the limited-edition RS4 Avant lies a tweaked version of the familiar 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine. Audi’s engineers have squeezed an additional 20PS out of the mill, bringing total output to 470PS. Torque figures remain unchanged at 600Nm of torque. While this translates to a 0.4-second improvement in the 0-100 kmph sprint time (now 3.7 seconds) compared to the standard RS4 Avant, the M3 Touring still holds a slight edge with its 510PS engine and 3.6-second 0-100 kmph time.
Tweaks for Performance and Handling
The extra power is complemented by a series of enhancements designed to sharpen the RS4 Avant’s handling. The special edition sits 10mm lower thanks to a stiffer suspension setup, with the option for owners to further lower the ride height by another 10mm for a more track-focused stance. Audi has also tweaked the software of the eight-speed automatic transmission for faster gear changes.
For even more precise handling, the limited-edition model boasts stiffer control arms and an increased negative camber angle on the front axle. The car comes equipped with sticky Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires on 20-inch forged wheels, borrowed from the RS4 Avant Competition. An additional set of exclusive 20-inch matte black wheels wrapped in ultra-grippy P Zero Trofeo RS semi-slick tyres is included in the package, along with a special pair of gloves for those who plan to take their RS4 Avant to the track.
Limited Availability and Premium Price Tag
Audi will only be producing 250 units of the RS4 Avant edition 25 years, exclusively for the European market. Orders will open in June, with deliveries expected to commence later this year. While the iconic Imola Yellow paint job is a fitting tribute to the heritage of the RS4, prospective buyers can also opt for Nardo Gray or Mythos Black for a more subdued look. Be prepared to pay a premium for exclusivity. The limited-edition RS4 Avant carries a price tag of EUR 142,905.
