Ather Energy CEO Tarun Mehta has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to inform that the electric vehicle manufacturer is working on a family scooter, which will be launched in 2024. The new scooter will be designed keeping in mind a family’s needs, offering more space, comfort, and storage, among others. Mehta has said that the scooter will be sold under an affordable price tag, making it more accessible to families.
Ather’s upcoming family scooter
The upcoming family scooter from Ather has been spotted being tested on roads in a camouflaged avatar, as per media reports. As seen in the spy shots, the scooter is expected to come with a slim headlight and taillamp, featuring a clean design language. The seat seems to be wide with ample space for a pillion rider. A side step and a flat floorboard can also been in the spy images.
New Ather 450X in the making
The company is also working on a new iteration of the 450X electric scooter, which currently comes in two power variants. The new version is touted to come with high-tech features and a premium price tag and is scheduled for a 2024 launch. “This new iteration is set to be the absolute pinnacle of refined performance. It will have best-in-class features that will redefine your riding experience,” Mehta said.
