Developed at Aprilia’s headquarters in Italy, this new addition to the Aprilia lineup combines racing experience with state-of-the-art technology.
The Aprilia RS 457 arrives in India alongside the country’s inaugural MotoGP race, underscoring Aprilia’s rich racing heritage. With 297 Grand Prix victories, Aprilia stands as the most successful European manufacturer in the Grand Prix World Championship. The company has claimed 38 world titles in junior MotoGP classes, fostering legendary riders such as Max Biaggi, Valentino Rossi, and Casey Stoner. Aprilia’s domination extends to the World Superbike Championship, where the RSV4 secured seven world championships.
Expanding the RS Family
Aprilia has consistently transferred its racing innovations to road sports bikes, offering riders unparalleled performance and enjoyment. The RS family epitomizes Aprilia’s commitment to sportiness, boasting innovations inspired by decades of racing success.
A Continuation of Success
The Aprilia RS 457 follows in the footsteps of the highly successful RS 660, which has revolutionized the sports bike segment since 2020. This new model leverages Aprilia’s extensive expertise and introduces exclusive technical choices, positioning it at the pinnacle of the sports bike market.
Power and Performance
The RS 457’s engine is a liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder with double camshaft timing and four valves per cylinder, delivering 35 kW (48 hp) of power. This engine offers a significant power advantage over single-cylinder engines while minimizing vibrations. Its unique 270-degree connecting rod assembly produces an exhilarating sound, reflecting its performance capabilities. Additionally, the bike’s dry weight is 159 kg, rising to 175 kg when wet.
Unmatched Power-to-Weight Ratio
The standout feature of the Aprilia RS 457 is its remarkable power-to-weight ratio, making it the best in its class. This exceptional ratio translates into pure performance and riding pleasure on both roads and racetracks.
Advanced Frame and Suspension
The bike features an exclusive and refined aluminum frame, a hallmark of Aprilia’s technological prowess. The frame’s design, derived from Aprilia’s racing success, ensures low weight, dynamic qualities, and a thrilling riding experience.
The 41 mm fork offers 120 mm of travel with preload adjustability, while the monoshock, working on the steel swingarm, provides 130 mm of wheel travel and is also adjustable in preload. The braking system comprises a 320 mm front disc with a ByBre radial-mount 4-piston caliper and a 220 mm steel disc at the rear. Both wheels benefit from a two-channel ABS system with dual map settings.
The Aprilia RS 457 rides on 17-inch sports rims with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tires, delivering excellent grip and agility.
Superior Electronics
The RS 457 boasts superbike-level electronic equipment. Its Ride by Wire system, first introduced by Aprilia in MotoGP, manages the engine through three riding modes that control power, torque delivery, and traction control, adjustable to three levels and even disableable. A quickshifter is also available as an accessory.
Iconic Design
The styling of the RS 457 pays homage to the legendary RS range, characterized by a double front fairing and an integrated underbelly silencer. The full LED front headlamp features the signature of Aprilia’s larger super sports bikes, while the front turn signals are seamlessly integrated into the headlamp’s light signature. The bike’s dashboard sports an elegant 5-inch TFT color instrument cluster, complemented by backlit handlebar controls.
