The Mahindra Group has announced the appointment of Ankit Todi as its new Group Chief Sustainability Officer. This appointment highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.
Ankit Todi joined the Mahindra Group in 2022 and has since played a pivotal role in reshaping the group’s sustainability strategy, now known as the ‘Planet Positive’ initiative. His contributions have been significant, including leading the Group Sustainability CEO Council and spearheading Mahindra’s engagement with prestigious global organisations. These include the World Economic Forum, United Nations Global Compact, and Sustainable Markets Initiative, as well as various domestic industry associations.
In his new role, Ankit will report directly to Abanti Sankaranarayanan, who serves as the Group Public Affairs Officer and is a member of the Group Executive Board. Commenting on the appointment, Abanti emphasised that Ankit’s promotion from within the organisation demonstrates Mahindra Group’s dedication to nurturing future leaders.
She praised Ankit’s ability to integrate business strategy with sustainability initiatives, noting his significant contributions to driving sustainability roadmaps and actions across the group’s diverse businesses. This approach has reinforced Mahindra’s reputation as a planet-positive business group.
Before joining Mahindra, Ankit spent seven years honing his skills in management consulting at Bain & Company, providing him with valuable experience in strategic business planning and execution.
Ankit’s passion for the clean-tech ecosystem is evident in his active engagement with the start-up community. He works diligently to introduce innovations to Mahindra Group Companies by leveraging connections within the start-up ecosystem, fostering a culture of innovation and sustainability within the organisation.
