Bugatti and Adidas have come together to create a visual spectacle in the form of football boots, dubbed Adidas X Crazyfast Bugatti that take inspiration from Bugatti’s current flagship, the Chiron. Unfortunately, only 99 prospective buyers will be able to get their hands on these extremely limited edition boots, which feature signature Adidas lightweight construction and bespoke Bugatti design flourishes all over. The low production volume, much like any Bugatti vehicle, will make them ultra-rare and highly sought after in the collectors’ community.
Built around the X Crazyfast laced boot, these boots have been created with a ‘Form Follows Performance’ design philosophy. The key innovation on display is Adidas’ innovative Speedframe sole plate technology that champions lightness and strength. The brand’s Aerocage material – an engineered lining designed to provide ideal support and stability by hugging the mid-foot, and Aeropacity Speedskin – a single-layer breathable mono mesh – help towards speed and stability.
The structure of X Crazyfast’s semi-transparent mono-mesh material on the mid-foot cage has been finished in a spectacular shade of Bugatti Blue, inspired by the colour of early Bugatti Grand Prix cars. While the colour serves as an instant reminder of Bugatti to any onlooker or a devoted fan of the brand, the resulting blue and black colour scheme simply looks drool-worthy. The carbon fibre inlay in the boot replicates the carbon fibre used on the Chiron.
On the side of the boot, two phrases have been prominently featured – “Impossible is Nothing,” which is Adidas’ tagline, and “Create the Incomparable,” which represents Bugatti’s ethos of creating unparalleled, benchmark-setting vehicles. The timeless ‘EB’ insignia of Ettore Bugatti has been repeated across the rear three-quarters of the boot – a nod to the ingenious founder. The X Crazyfast Bugatti boots also come packed in a bespoke box that features a carbon fibre weave-inspired design.
To make sure both Adidas and Bugatti enthusiasts across the world get an equal opportunity to acquire one of the 99 pairs, the boots will be auctioned through the Adidas Collect Web 3 platform. The auction will be live from 8th-11th November 2023. The boots are also headed for a physical unveiling by professional footballers Rafael Leão and Karim Benzema this month.
