A look at Lego’s new range of racing car sets

The Lego Group has unveiled a new collection of vehicles developed in partnership with established automotive brands and racing outfits such as McLaren, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team, and BMW.

From Lego Icons, the 10330 McLaren MP4/4 & Ayrton Senna set pays homage to the legendary 1988 McLaren MP4/4 and the Brazilian F1 driver. Meant for 18+ ages, the 693-piece set comes with an assembly scale model, which features a functioning steering, rod suspension, an adjustable rear wing, and a detailed turbocharged V6 engine. The set also includes a display stand for the car and an Ayrton Senna minifigure. The 76919 Speed Champions 2023 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car from the Lego Speed Champions range is meant for 9+ ages. As the name suggests, it is a replica of the F1 team’s 2023 race car.

The Speed Champions range also includes the 76922 Lego Speed Champions BMW M4 GT3 and BMW M Hybrid V8 Race Cars. The double pack also comes with Lego minifigure drivers.

The Lego Technic range has added two versions of the Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance, the F1 team’s 2023 race car. For 18+ ages, the 1:8 scale 42171 Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance set features an authentic livery, a V6 engine with moving pistons and a functioning DRS-style rear wing. For the younger fans, there is a pull-back version (42165 Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance Pull Back).

The new range is available at all official Lego and partner stores.
