4th-Gen Suzuki Swift Concept Revealed Ahead Of Global Debut

Ahead of its global debut later this year, Suzuki recently revealed the 4th-gen Swift Concept. As seen in the images, the new Swift Concept claims to offer an evolutionary design while retaining its sporty intent and impressive fuel efficiency.

Swift Concept Looks Production-Ready

While Suzuki calls it the Swift Concept, the design of the model seems closer to production. The design of the Swift has evolved with a curvier stance but a couple of design elements retain its sporty demeanour. For instance, it now gets a new set of angular LED headlights, incorporating L-shaped LED DRLs. The radiator grille looks smaller in size and features gloss black surrounds.

There is also a strong character line running across the length of the side profile. The greenhouse on the updated model also seems substantial, which could result in a more airier-feeling cabin on the inside. Ample changes have also been made to the rear profile in the form of LED tail lights with C-shaped elements and a sportier rear bumper.

New Interior Looks Busy

The changes are far more dramatic on the inside, which is not necessarily a good thing. There are multiple layers of plastics, which make the dashboard look busy. The touchscreen infotainment stands freely on the dashboard and is angled towards the driver. It borrows the toggle-based air-con controls and flat-bottomed steering wheel from the Brezza SUV..

New High-Efficiency Powertrain

While we do not have any specifications of the powertrain, Suzuki mentioned that the Swift will feature a “High-efficiency engine that strikes a balance between driving performance and fuel efficiency”

India Debut Likely Later This Year

Suzuki will display the Swift Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show between October 26 and November 5, 2023. Maruti Suzuki could showcase the India-spec Swift later this year, with the launch likely in early 2024. The new Maruti Suzuki Swift will continue to rival other hatchbacks like the Hyundai Grand-i10 Nios and Tata Tiago.
