The first Genesis GV70 SUV went on sale in December 2020 and since then, the South Korean luxury carmaker has managed to sell 2,00,000 examples around the world. The 2024 model year update marks the first ever major update for the GV70 SUV. The changes are targeted to enhance the customer experience inside out.
Starting with the exterior changes and enhancements, the new Genesis GV70 features a new radiator grille with dual-weave mesh and updated headlights featuring the new MLA technology. The front bumper has also been reprofiled along with a fresh skid plate design.
Around the side, the changes are limited to a new design for the 19-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the indicators are now housed inside the tail light clusters, thereby improving visibility. A new module sits near the rear spoiler, incorporating a built-in camera for the digital rear view monitor.
Moving to the inside, the biggest highlight of the new GV70 is the single-pane 27-inch OLED display. The long slab of screen incorporates both the digital instrument cluster and the touchscreen infotainment system. The touch-bases controls but air-con and heating/cooling function for the seats replace the physical buttons on the outgoing model.
The air-con vents have now moved in an oval binnacle beneath the centre screen. Other interior highlights include the updated Genesis steering wheel with dual-tone finish, mood lamps and intricate stitching for cabin upholstery.
The performance-spec Genesis GV70 Sport brings a few additions, boosting its sporty appeal. On the outside, these enhancements include larger air intakes, blacked out radiator grille, 21-inch dark metallic alloy wheels and dark-chrome muffler tips and diffuser. On the inside, the changes are limited to a D-cut steering wheel and blacked-out cabin.
