Skoda offers the new Kodiaq in two variants — SE and SE L — that will be joined with the Kodiaq Sportline. The variants are further segregated into two seating and five engine options. Skoda will open order books for the new Kodiaq from April 10 onwards.
The Skoda Kodiaq SE 5-seater prices begin from GBP 36,645 and go up to GBP 39,805 for the 7-seater diesel engine. Speaking of its features, the Kodiaq SE comes packed with features such as LED lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch virtual cockpit and 3-zone climate control. Its safety features include blind spot detection with door exit warning, cross-traffic alerts and braking assist.
The higher-grade Kodiaq SE L, which comes standard with the 7-seater configuration, offers an additional layer of features. These additional features include 19-inch alloy wheels, LED matrix lights with features like all-weather lighting and cornering lamps; a powered driver’s seat with memory function, a powered tailgate and perforated artificial leather seats.
The new Skoda Kodiaq is 60mm longer than the outgoing model, lending more interior space for its passengers. Skoda has also added active cooling shutters and redesigned front and rear bumpers, which helps in achieving a drag coefficient of 0.282. The design of the Kodiaq looks more rugged than before, thanks to the squared-off wheel arches, prominent body cladding, and angular headlights and tail lights. The radiator grille of the Kodiaq now features a horizontal LED strip while the TOP LED Matrix lights are said to offer 15% more light output than the outgoing Kodiaq.
The 2nd-gen Kodiaq SUV offers a wide range of powertrains, including a plug-in-hybrid option. The plug-in-hybrid Kodiaq makes use of a 1.5L TSI engine that comes coupled with a 25.7kWh battery pack and a pair of electric motors. The combined system output stands at 204hp and it can drive for up to 100 km on sole battery power. Other powertrain options include 150hp 1.5L TSI, 204hp 2.0L TSI AWD and 2.0L TDI diesel in 150hp and 193hp power tunes.
