2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain Goes On Sale In Europe

The E-Class All-Terrain goes on sale in the European market with increased ground clearance and standard all-wheel-drive over the E-Class estate.

How About A Cross Estate?

The E-Class All-Terrain went on sale in India for a brief duration back in 2018 against the likes of the Volvo V60 Cross Country. While the estate body style never picked up in India, it holds a big potential in the European markets.

The new E-Class All-Terrain takes the same old recipe and adds a bit of new-age ingredients. It carries the new design language that is featured with the E-Class sedan and estate. But since it is All-Terrain, it offers prominent side body cladding, rugged front and rear bumpers, underbody protection and adjustable air suspension. Additionally, it comes with all-wheel-drive as standard and increased ground clearance of 46mm over the E-Class Estate.

Better Standard Kit Of Features

Under the revised product strategy, Mercedes-Benz now offers considerably more features in the new E-Class range than the previous generations under the standard package. Based on the Avantgarde trim, the E-Class All-Terrain offers features such as flush-fit door handles, keyless entry and go, adaptive LED headlights, a 12.3-inch driver’s display, a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and heated driver and co-passenger seats.

More Powertrain Options

Mercedes-Benz also offers a range of powertrain options with the E-Class All-Terrain, which also includes plug-in-hybrid. The base engine option is the 220d which uses a 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine, producing 197HP and 440Nm. A mild hybrid system further offers 23HP and 205Nm for a brief duration.

In case you fancy a stronger hybrid punch, Mercedes-Benz will also offer you a diesel plug-in hybrid. It uses the same 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine paired with a stronger electric motor which puts out 129HP and 440Nm. The combined system power and torque output of the plug-in-hybrid 300de stands at 312HP and 700Nm. Delhi-NCR folks would feel relieved to know that there is also a petrol engine on offer (only if the All-Terrain hits our shores) that is a 3.0L turbocharged inline-6, pumping out 381PS and 500Nm. All powertrain options come mated to a torque converter automatic transmission channelling power to all 4 wheels.
