2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet priced at EUR 66,402

The CLE is an amalgamation of the C-Class Coupe and E-Class Coupe, which helped the carmaker to cut down on model lines. Likewise, the CLE Cabriolet is being launched as a replacement for the C-Class and E-Class cabriolets. As we stated earlier, the CLE Cabriolet packs a soft-top folding roof, which is said to offer year-round usability.

Mercedes-Benz has also crammed a slew of creature comfort features, in order to benefit the passengers in every driving condition, be it a serene and silent drive with the roof shut or an exhilarating open-top experience. The Aircap electric wind deflector system and the Airscarf headroom heating system come as part of the standard package. Both systems are targeted to improve the driving experience in cold temperatures with features like retractable wind deflectors and warm air blowers.

The acoustic soft-top roof of the CLE Cabriolet can be opened or shut with a flick of a button in under 20 seconds, at speeds of up to 60kmph. And since the mechanism is powered by electricity for the first time, it is said to be a lot quieter than before. Furthermore, an automatic shutter in the boot separates the folding mechanism from whatever you may wish to throw inside.

Speaking of driver amenities and features, the CLE Cabriolet features a freestanding 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which can be angled between 15 and 40 degrees to cut down on reflections. A 12.3-inch instrument cluster sits right in the vision of the driver, showing vital information via customisation display options. Mercedes-Benz will also sell you optional dynamic ambient lighting featuring bands of light sweeping from the cockpit over the doors and rear side panels to behind the rear seats.

At market launch, the new CLE Cabriolet will offer a choice of two four-cylinder engines — a 197PS 2.0L turbocharged diesel and a 204PS 2.0L turbocharged petrol. Both engine options come mated to a 48V mild hybrid setup, offering 23PS and 205Nm of torque briefly. Soon after the launch, Mercedes-Benz will also offer a 3.0L turbocharged inline-6 petrol engine, specifications of which are yet to come by.
