Mercedes-AMG has given its smallest high-performance SUV a minor nip and tuck for 2024. The updated GLA 45 S features a few cosmetic updates and more features.
Unmistakingly An AMG
The GLA 45 S boasts multiple sporty elements making it worthy of the AMG crest, which sits proudly on the bonnet. A new front apron and signature AMG Panamericana grille further accentuate its sporty credentials. Buyers now also get the option to choose 3 alloy wheel designs, ranging from 19- to 21-inch wheels. Speaking of visual changes, the updated GLA now offers new LED lighting elements and body-coloured wheel arch extensions over the outgoing model.
Uplifting the sporty quotient of the interior further, the GLA also features the AMG steering wheel as standard. It offers multiple AMG driving controls with in-built displays that are customisable should the user wish. Users also get the option to swap the comfort seats with AMG sports seats. As part of the update, the MBUX also receives an update and wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
2.0L Firecracker
We are thankful to Mercedes-AMG for keeping the 2.0L banger untouched. It produces a healthy 421HP of power at 6750rpm and 500Nm of torque between 5000rpm and 5250rpm. The engine channels power to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. With launch control, the GLA 45 S can do a sprint from a standstill to 100kmph in 4.3 seconds. The same engine also powers the Mercedes-AMG A45 S that we recently got to sample and the review of the same will drop on the website soon.
