2024 Land Rover Discovery Sport launched at INR 67.90 lakh

Land Rover has updated its smallest SUV in the Discovery portfolio with new feature additions and cosmetic enhancements. Despite the updates, the 2024 Discovery Sport retails cheaper than the outgoing model by 4.46 lakh ex-showroom. It is worth mentioning that the outgoing Discovery Sport was offered in the R-Dynamic pack, which is omitted in the MY24 Discovery Sport.

Speaking of cosmetic updates, the Discovery Sport runs on a new set of 19-inch alloy wheels. The rest of the exterior remains the same as before, with a few updates made to the front and rear bumpers. Stepping on the inside, the Discovery Sport also adopts the minimalist dashboard design of the new Land Rover models.

Sitting at the centre of the dashboard is the new 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The updated system now supports over-the-air (OTA) updates along with wireless Apple CarPlay. Land Rover has also added a surround view 360-degree parking camera in addition to the clear-sight rearview monitor. The Discovery Sport also offers an all-digital instrument cluster as standard.

Other features of the Discovery Sport include a fixed glass panoramic roof, power-adjustable front seats with memory function, climate control for third-row, 40:20:40 split seats for second-row, Meridian sound system, updated steering wheel with paddle shifters, illuminated skid plates, wireless smartphone charging and powered tailgate.

The updated Land Rover Discovery Sport continues to come with a choice of two engine options — a 2.0L turbocharged petrol and a 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine. The 2.0L turbo petrol engine puts out 248PS of power and 365Nm of torque. The 2.0L turbo diesel engine offers 203PS of power and 430Nm of torque. Both the powertrain options come mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive as standard.
