2024 Kia EV6 facelift breaks cover

Kia has introduced the updated 2024 EV6 facelift that brings a host of cosmetic and technical updates. Thanks to the revised styling, the new EV6 follows the new design language of the Kia EV range like the EV9 and EV5.

Starting with its exterior design, the highlight is the revised front end featuring the new signature lighting that’s seen with the larger Kia EV models. Around the side, the new EV6 offers a range of updated alloy wheel designs including a 20-inch wheel option with the GT Line. Changes at the rear are limited to minor reprofiling of bumper and light clusters.

On the inside, the EV6 facelift brings a next-generation infotainment system with features like over-the-air software updates, streaming services, and wireless smartphone connectivity. The updated infotainment system now also features fingerprint authentication for driving profiles.

Advanced driver-assistance systems like lane keeping assist and remote parking assist are also included. The rest of the dashboard design and space remains the same as the outgoing EV6. Convenience features like wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, walk-away door lock, digital key, and head-up display.

The biggest upgrade lies under the hood, or rather, under the floor. The new EV6 gets a larger 84kWh battery, bumping up the driving range to 494km (307 miles) on a single charge. Kia assures drivers that despite the increased battery capacity, charging remains rapid, achieving 80% charge in just 18 minutes using a 350kW ultra-fast charger.

Like before, the EV6 continues to come with rear- and all-wheel-drive configuration, packing rear-axle and dual-axle electric motors, respectively. The top-spec dual-motor GT Line puts out 320PS of power and 605Nm of torque. The ride is expected to be smoother and quieter as well, thanks to suspension tuning and improved noise control measures.

Among all that has changed, prices remain more or less unchanged. As a result, the updated EV6 offers more for the same price as before. The launch of the updated 2024 Kia EV6 is scheduled to take place in June after the South Korea government’s certification. Furthermore, Kia has also launched the ‘Triple Zero’ program offering trade-in benefits, special financing options, and a guaranteed residual value for future Kia repurchases.
