2024 Kia Carnival pre-orders begin

About a month ago, Kia released the first images of the new 2024 Carnival. The South Korean carmaker has now revealed the complete details of the updated RV, including its powertrain details and prices. Kia has also opened the order books for the new Carnival in South Korea, which will be followed by other international markets.

Refreshed SUV-inspired design

Kia launched the 4th-gen Carnival back in 2020 and it took a big leap on the design front over the 3rd-gen model. The facelift of the 4th-gen Carnival continues to carry the bold design but adds a bit of SUV flair this time around. At the front, it carries a new front fascia that looks somewhat inspired by Kia’s EV range of models. The Tiger Nose grille gets a new slot-like finish and the inverted L-shaped LED DRLs seemingly merge with the grille. The main headlights sit apart from the grille in a vertical orientation, which is similar to electric Kia models.

Around the side profile, the headlights and tail lights seamlessly merge with the strong character line covering the length of the vehicle. The new Carnival runs on a new set of alloy wheels, which look radical over the plain design of the previous model. At the rear, the Carnival continues with the new “Star Map Signature Lighting” along with the connected lightbar, which is seen in other new Kia offerings as well.

Refined interior ambience

The changes on the inside are relatively minor for the 2024 Carnival. It continues to come with dual 12.3-inch screens wrapped in a single piece of glass. The centre console of the new Carnival looks less cluttered owing to the new capacitive climate control panel, which also doubles up as an infotainment shortcut menu. The older gear selector lever now makes way for a new rotary gear selector knob.

New hybrid powertrain

Along with the current 3.5L petrol and 2.2L diesel engine options, the new Carnival also offers a new 1.6L hybrid powertrain for customers seeking more efficiency and eco-friendly commutes. The hybrid powertrain makes use of a 1.6L turbocharged petrol engine, which coupled with the electric motors and battery, offers a combined output of 245PS and a tested fuel efficiency of 14km/l.

Deliveries begin in mid-November

Kia will begin delivering the 2024 Carnival equipped with the 2.2L diesel and 3.5L petrol engine from mid-November. Deliveries of the hybrid models will begin soon after the compilation of certifications from major ministries. The prices of the 2024 Kia Carnival start from WON 34.7 million and go to WON 96.5 million.
