The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 doesn’t look too different from the model it replaces. The key exterior design elements like the grille and bumpers have gone under a refresh, resulting in a 20mm increase in length. The rest of the dimensions remain same as the design profile, except for the integration of camera-based side mirrors, which look sleeker than the conventional mirrors and boost aerodynamic efficiency.
Further enhancing the aerodynamics is the extended length of the rear spoiler by 50mm and the aerodynamic alloy wheel design.
Heading on the inside, while the layout of the dashboard and its overall functionality remains the same, a couple of small enhancements boost the convenience. These changes include physical controls for features like heated and ventilated seats, heated steering wheel and parking assist function. Hyundai has also moved the wireless smartphone charging pad from the lower part of the dash to the centre console, enabling easier access.
A lot of enhancements also lie under the bodyshell, which are said to improve the driving experience. To begin with, the new Ioniq 5 features new shock absorbers, a more rigid cowl cross bar for the steering wheel and underbody reinforcements, all of which enhance both comfort and dynamics.
Apart from that, Hyundai has added more sound-deadening material in order to optimise the motor noise. The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 also packs a bigger 84kWh battery pack, which replaces the older 77.4kWh battery pack, and offers more driving range.
Speaking about the newly-introduced Ioniq 5 N Line, it dials up the sporty quotient of the crossover by taking a couple of design cues from the Ioniq 5 N. These additions include sportier bumpers, N Line badging on the grille, side skirting and 20-inch aluminium alloy wheels. Interior enhancements include an N Line steering wheel, metallic pedals, sporty seats, a black headliner and complimenting sporty inlays.
