Now sleeker and sportier
The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N shares its design with the Elantra facelift, which was revealed earlier this year. In addition, it further features N-specific design elements uplifting its sporty quotient. The changes feature an N radiator grille with a mesh gloss back finish, larger air intakes, N alloy wheels, a rear spoiler and twin-tip exhaust. Thanks to the sleeker headlights and muscular bonnet, the new Elantra N looks more sharper and sportier than the outgoing model.
Motorsport-derived performance updates
The new Elantra N hosts an array of updates, which have been derived from motorsport to boost the ride, handling and comfort of the sporty sedan. To begin with, the new Elantra N has a reinforced engine mount membrane, which claims to cut down on vibrations and improve agility. It also features changes like G-bushing reinforcement for improved yaw response and steering precision and a new rear-suspension S/ABS insulator for improved damping. The electronic stability control has also been updated in line with the hardware add-ons.
The updated Elantra N also offers improved steering feedback thanks to a low-friction universal joint and better gearbox tolerances. Upping the dynamics, Hyundai has also fitted new forged alloy wheels reducing the unsprung mass by 15kg! Other small but noteworthy changes include increased tyre pressures, duct-style air duct for better cooling and aerodynamics and improved thermal protection for better endurance over the course of heavy track use.
No changes to the powertrain, thankfully!
The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N continues with its 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine. We are thankful to Hyundai for not skimping on the manual transmission option, unlike other carmakers. The Elantra N continues to offer the option of a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic. The engine puts out 276PS of power and 392Nm of torque to the front wheels via a clever electronic locking differential.
The enhanced dynamic updates mated to the revised electronic stability control should mean that the Elantra N continues to slap a wide grin on your face, maybe even wider this time around. US customers will be able to order the new Elantra N from January 2024 onwards via their nearest Hyundai dealerships. If you fancy ordering your car online, Hyundai will also sell you its latest offerings via Amazon and deliver your new car right to your doorstep.
