The updated 2024 Hyundai Bayon brings a couple of design enhancements, which bring it closer to the new-age Hyundai models. The cosmetic changes start with the connected LED DRL strip that runs across the front of the crossover. Its LED headlights are neatly integrated within the mesh-finished grille and the 2D Hyundai logo sits atop the radiator grille.
Around the side profile, the Bayon also features a new set of alloy wheels, which look sportier than the ones on the outgoing model. Changes around the rear are few, in the form of a redesigned bumper. Boosting its appeal further, Hyundai has added four new colour options, taking the total count to nine colours to choose from.Â
Moving on to the inside of the new Bayon, while the dashboard design remains more or less the same as the outgoing model, it boasts new tech. The 10.25-inch infotainment system now supports over-the-air updates while also offering Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Depending on the trim level, the Bayon features a 4.2-inch MID-based digital instrument cluster or a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster.Â
In addition, Hyundai also also added Type-C USB ports, which can be used to fast-charge smartphones. However, features like Android Auto or Apple CarPlay can only be accessed with the Type-A USB port. Speaking of other small changes, Hyundai has also added interior ambient lighting and an 8-speaker Bose sound system with a subwoofer.Â
Since the 2024 Hyundai Bayon is a mid-lifecycle facelift, it continues with the same set of engine transmission options. Its 1.2L nat-asp petrol engine puts out 84PS of power and 117Nm of torque while the 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine offers 120PS of power and 172Nm of torque. The turbo petrol engine also comes mated to a 48V mild-hybrid system, offering better efficiency. Its transmission choices include 6-speed intelligent manual transmission and a 7-speed dual-clutch whereas the 1.2L nat-asp unit comes with a 5-speed manual transmission only.Â
