2024 Audi S3 revealed with increased performance

Enhanced design

Before moving to the performance upgrades, let’s quickly take a look at what all has changed in terms of aesthetic appeal. At the front, the 2024 Audi S3 features a large singleframe radiator grille with chrome inserts, that is complimented with larger air ducts: a revised front splitter and an updated bumper. The headlights and tail lights of the new S3 also features a revised lighting design, which can be customised from 4 DRL pattern options. Around the back, the new S3 features quad exhaust pipes and a new rear diffuser.

More performance

Audi has dialled up the performance with the new S3 over the outgoing model. Its 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine now puts out 333PS of power and 420Nm of torque, which is an increase of 23PS and 20Nm over the previous S3. This enables stronger acceleration and a 0-100kmph sprint time of 4.7 seconds. Both the engine and transmission have also gone under a sportier tunning that improves both mid-range and outright performance. Thanks to the higher starting torque for the transmission, the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission now takes off the line faster than before.

Torque splitter added

The biggest highlight of the RS3 was its innovative torque splitter that enabled beautiful four-wheel drifts. The same torque splitter has now made its way to the S3 and it pays dividends with increased stability and agility. The torque splitter uses an electronically controlled multiple disk clutch on each drive shaft to optimally distribute the torque between the rear wheel on the inside and the outside of the curve – depending on the driving situation and the chosen Audi drive select mode.

Sharper interior; new features

Other highlights of the new Audi S3 include a sharper interior layout and more features. Interior elements like the shifter and AC vents have been revised while the trim pieces now come with new materials and ambient light contouring. Moreover, the 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system of the new S3 now supports third-party apps that can be sourced from the in-built store.
