Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has successfully supplied a fleet of Toyota Hilux pickups to the Indian Army. This achievement follows an intensive two-month evaluation by the Indian Army’s Northern Command, where the Hilux exhibited exceptional performance and resilience.
During the comprehensive evaluation, the Toyota Hilux demonstrated its robustness across challenging terrains and extreme weather conditions, excelling from high altitudes to freezing temperatures. The Hilux is renowned worldwide for its reliability, durability, and remarkable off-road capabilities.
V Wiseline Sigamani, General Manager of the Strategic Business Unit (North) at TKM, expressed the company’s enthusiasm about this significant accomplishment. The Hilux’s unique off-road attributes, combined with advanced safety features, render it an optimal choice for military applications, addressing their distinct needs.
Powered by a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel engine, the Toyota Hilux is available with both six-speed automatic and manual transmissions. Equipped with 4X4 drive capabilities and innovative first-in-segment features, the Hilux showcases versatility. Its remarkable water-wading capability of 700mm enhances its suitability for traversing Indian trails with ease.
