Celebrated for his unwavering pursuit of triumph, Márquez initially left a lasting impression on the global stage in 2013 when he achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the youngest-ever MotoGP world champion at the tender age of 20.

Nevertheless, the rapid rise of this exceptional talent was soon met with a series of swift and unyielding challenges.

A series of injuries following the accident kept Márquez on the sidelines, preventing him from pursuing championship titles in the 2020, 2021, and 2022 seasons.

Starting the 2020 campaign as the favourite, Márquez broke his humerus in the first race in Jerez and subsequently missed the entire season.

In the 2021 season, the Spanish rider made a comeback to the racing scene. Despite still grappling with the lingering effects of his wrist injury, he managed to clinch his first victory of the season at the German GP.

2022 proved to be another frustrating year for Márquez as he was forced to miss numerous races after undergoing a fourth surgery on his right humerus.

Nevertheless, even while not being in peak physical condition, he consistently secured 10th place or better in 10 races and achieved a significant milestone in his career by attaining his 100th premier class podium at the Australian Grand Prix.

Márquez says: “Since I was a kid, it was never enough. If I have something, I want more. If I am fast, I want to be faster. I am a natural competitor; this is something that I think you are born with."
