The 2024 Dodge Charger has been revealed, and, predictably, the new Charger line-up will offer all-electric and combustion-powered derivatives, although the latter will not arrive before next year.
The new-generation Dodge Charger is the first model family built on Stellantis’ new BEV-specific STLA Large platform.
The electric model is called the Charger Daytona. It will be offered in two trims – entry-level 496HP R/T and the top-spec 670HP Scat Pack. Both are based on a 400V architecture and use a 100.5kWh battery pack.
Two-door versions of the Dodge Charger Daytona will enter production by mid-2024.
The Charger Daytona Scat Pack is ‘expected’ to do 0-96.5km/h in 3.3 seconds and to run the quarter-mile in an estimated 11.5 seconds.
The combustion models will get the ‘SIXPACK’ suffix. There will be two derivatives on offer – the 550HP Dodge Charger SIXPACK H.O. and a 420HP Charger SIXPACK S.O. Both versions will be powered by Dodge’s 3.0L twin-turbo inline-six Hurricane engines. This marks the end of the Charger's V8 era.
The patent-pending Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system for Dodge Charger Daytona models creates a unique exhaust profile with Hellcat levels of sound intensity that shatters the preconception of a typical battery electric vehicle.
